MHS Honors All-State Singer

Midland High School Senior, Nolan Drake, has been chosen to participate in the 2017 Honors All-State Chorus. There is no greater high school music accomplishment than to be selected for this performance group. Nolan will be singing with the best voices in the state.  In addition, his chances of receiving a college music scholarship is very high since colleges heavily recruit All-State singers.

Nolan auditioned among hundreds of other students at Geneseo High School in October.  He was then selected to participate in a District Chorus at Augustana College.  A committee from the state looks at each student’s individual audition score and selects only the top students to participate at the state level. Going to State in music is unique because the size of your high school is not taken into consideration as is the case in sports. All vocalists from the entire state are in competition with each other. Nolan will now join other elite musicians and participate in the All-State Music Festival  which is held in Peoria January 26th-28th.  Congratulations Nolan on a job well done!
